I had so much fun gathering colorful, festive photos and crafty Mexican-inspired DIY projects for today’s post, and I can’t wait to share them with you all!

First, an inspiration board filled with tons of color, Ashley Meaders (fave) fringe, super cute details from one my new favorite weddings, shot by Sarah Yates, and images from a Couture Events la fiesta inspiration shoot.

My friends and I have a thing for obsession with “skinny” margaritas. Hundreds less calories than the typical, sugar-blast margs made with store-bought mixers, and ooooooh so delicious. It is actually how the margarita started out / supposed to be — very minimal, made with fresh ingredients.

Here is a recipe for the “Classic Margarita,” compliments of Darcy O’Neil from the Art of Drink.

The 42-21 Margarita
2 oz Tequila (Blanco)
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz Lime Juice
½ tsp Fructose

Instructions: In a cocktail shaker combine all ingredients with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a salt rimmed stemware glass. No garnish necessary.

Side note: We prefer substituting Agave Nectar for fructose. So yummy!

My boyfriend is set on having a mariachi band at his / { our : )} wedding. I don’t hate it.

And I leave you with Tori + Austin’s Sayulita destination wedding. It has officially joined the club (along with this wedding) of my all time favorite weddings. Unlike most people, I am usually not the biggest fan of Mexico/ Hawaii beach weddings, white sand, yadah yadah. But THIS is not the typical destination beach wedding.  Everything from the hidden ceremony location, to the hand-sewn napkins and personal portrait place cards, to the vibrant splashes of color and the vintage Mexico vibe. You MUST see the rest of the photos and read the bride’s heartfelt account of the event.

I hope you all have some festal plans consisting of tacos, margaritas, sombreros, pinatas, or any combination of those,, and that this helped you get in the mood for this joyous holiday. OLE!
